see from your other post that you are GT 1. Sounds like overkill to me but maybe they couldn't get insurance approval for sovaldi and olysio Or Sov, Oly and Riba without the peg. Odd.

But with all that you are SURE to beat this cause I'm 1B and seem to have beat it with just S & O as many here seem to be doing.

Well this is the first time that I'm on these meds my doc ordered I guess but take the shot once a week I am GT 1b also hope this works
I had Liver Biopsy and found out my liver was fine but had hep c for about 35 years but never bothered me and had a ultrasound done and my spleen was enlarged a little but that was it my liver was in good shape so here I am on these meds so far so good working everyday!

Many people are on solv=riba-peg don't pay attention to i'net strangers that want to tell you what you should be taking.
Most likely, your doctor knows more about you & your overall health picture, knows your insurance & what they will cover, better than well meaning comments here, and there are no physicians here giving advice just other patients who google a lot.
If you trust your dr, follow his prescription. If you doubt your doc, get a new one.

Thanks Trissa and the same to you, I see a lot take the shot on Friday incase you feel bad on weekend but have no effects yet but drink a lot of water and tired a little but that is it, no aches and pain walk about 2 miles everyday and feel good so far hope it is working,

Trissa - all I expressed was SURPRISE that a 1B was prescribed that course of tx! And I also noted that it could well be an insurance issue.

WarriorGal it might be cause I have not ever been treated before and I have never used my insurance in 34 years and just now using it.

One would think not using your ins for all those years would make it easier to get approved...certainly wouldn't make it harder.

Sovaldi & Olysio in combination is an "off label" treatment and is very expensive and thus many ins cos don't want to pay for it.. .especially for "treatment naive" patients such as yourself. They use it for those who have either previously failed tx or have some medical condition - such as depression or anxiety - that makes them ineligible for Riba and/or INF.

In any event, as I said - it should CURE you for sure!!

Hope you remain having tolerable side effects. They are powerful drugs and you may not be able to all you were able to previously. Also very glad it's only going to be for 12 weeks!!

though I would doubt that the combo of the THREE drugs they approved for you are more cost effective.
