And you bet, third time is a charm for you. This tx is killer on that virus beastie! Nukes it fast and makes sure it's dead forever. At least we think so - too early to really know since outside of the COSMOS trial, this tx started to be used in the real world in January. I KNOW I'm cured - SVR12 a month ago - was Geno 1a and had the virus a lonnngggg time. This will work for you.

Several of us have done it - in the U.S. it's Sovaldi/Olysio. Side effects are kinda hard to pin down, I'll say that. Everyone is different, and what we may thin of as a side from the meds might not actually be from that. DO stay OUT of the sun with Galexos on board - or wear long sleeves, hat, use a good sun protection. I didn't have issues with that but some did - but I shun the sun as much as possible in the desert.

Thanks for the encouragement Kat! Yes I believe Galexos is the same as Olysio . Can't wait to hear those magic words SVR or Undie, whichever we are using these days. Just took the pills for the second time tonight. One thing I don't remember being told though is if I take them at night or morning or if I take at the same time or one in the morning one at night. Can't believe I am asking this now!!! Any words of wisdom??

Congrats Debbie. I finished that combo about eight weeks ago. All I felt was somewhat tired for about an hour right after dosing. I'd just lay down for a bit and my energy woudl come back. No nasty side effects except for some insomnia and headache.
I was VL less that 15 by week 4 and non detect at week 12 EOT.
As CM said it's a real kick ass drug combo, kick ass on the virus and very tolerable (for me anyway).
I had a shit time on IFN, damn near killed me and I'm still not recovered four years later. I think that damage is with me to stay.

Oh ...careful in the sun while taking Galexos. Some folks, not all, can develop a very nasty rash triggered by sunlight

Wear sunglasses! My only side effect was and still is burning, blurry eyes with loss of distance vision. It started during the first week of treatments. Now it's been about 10 weeks since I finished, and the symptoms are still there. Seeing an eye doctor this week. I have to physically open my eyelids with my fingers when I wake up! But I haven't heard about anyone else having these eye symptoms. I'm always in the 2% . LOL

I took my two at the same time around 4 in the afternoon because I'm such a night owl I never know if I will be outta bed before noon. I drank lots of water and stayed out of the sun - wore heavy sunscreen - even with NO sun out there, the UV rays ARE there.

I don't think it matters one bit what time of day we take them - they don't affect you emotionally - well, they didn't me anyway. Not like Riba (EEE). Of course not like InterF*CKon. Pretty mellow ride. You'll see. No reason not to take them both at the same time - easier to remember. I got a pill plastic storage thingie, a 7 day one, in which those two pills (only) fit perfectly. Would suggest that just in case you wonder if you took them or not that day. All vitamins and supplements in a DIFFERENT pill holder. Those two, S & O, are sacred - each day being $1875 or so worth of meds plus THEY WORK (for most).

That little two-pill pill box was a godsend. There were days that I wasn't sure if I had taken them or not - just my normal short-term memory issues, which doesn't matter with vitamins if you forget a day or whatever, but it sure matters with S&O - at least price-wise. That way, with that little box, I was POSITIVE when I had taken them and only almost "forgot" once - it was late at night, and I couldn't remember - so looked at the pill box and yup, I hadn't taken that day's doses.

You'll be amazed when you see your first labs. This stuff kicks your ALT and AST down to NORMAL in DAYS even though we usually don't get labs done for two weeks. Everything on my labs was better. However, my platelets have gone down again since end of tx, to about 141, which they were before tx, and I don't know what that's about but will ask the doc when I see him next month. Not worried about it - it's not that low, but still low.

I took mine at night time after my night rounds. .I didn't want to chance any adverse reactions seeing as I had to drive on the thruway late in the evening. I had a small container of Greek yogurt to wash em down.
