I hope they have to refund the excess costs. We are paying ransom for our lives.

The cost is going to come down. We've been saying it all along. With competition next year & lawsuits like this one we'll see changes in pricing. Right now Gilead is making billions from those of us lucky enough to have ins. picking up most of the tab. I'd like to see some refunds as well. My ins. was billed $33k for the first mo.of Harvoni & ins. pd. $15k. My co-pay is $36.00. The price is already being negotiated.

My ins. will pay a total of $45k for my 12 wks of Harvoni. A lot cheaper than the cost of my previous failed txs with rescue meds for anemia & all the labs, docs, anti-depressants & meds to manage other side effects.

My mom's cancer treatments were outrageously higher than the cost of this drug.

Incredible! The audacity to charge so much when a country like Egypt is able to have the same medicine for 99% less expensive.

If that isn't evidence exhibit one then I'm dumping gold bricks on a daily basis to support myself.

Let's see. if the cost is1K per pill in the US, then it's only $10 dollars per in Egypt. Multiply by 168 pills (24 weeks) = $1680 dollars for 24 weeks but for most folks will be on it for only 12 weeks meaning that the total cost in Egypt for 12 weeks of Harvoni would be $840 dollars. For 8 weeks it's even less = $ 560 bucks!

Now the question is how much of the money being earned in Egypt is going to cover the actual manufacturing costs? And how is it that Gilead is supposed to recover some of that revenue that would help with the costs for research and development?

It stinks like a lake full of dead fish! Does anyone know when those senate hearings are supposed to start?

How about a Harvoni lawsuit in Canada?

@ dawter ..let s all get a class action suit in Canada from all the geno !'s waithiong and us geno 3's who are close to endstage !! The CDR has approved it for geno 3's ..just waiting to see who will pick up the tab for those who have no insurance except OHIP
