Sorry to hear that your experiencing the metalic taste, but unfortunately the meds your on is the results of that.
There is nothing we can do about it.
I remember soo well, the first time (post treatment) I had some breakfast at the resto, had bacon and eggs, and OMG the difference in the food was incredible.
I had not tasted the taste of eggs in over a year being on treatment.
I'm afraid you will have that famous tx taste in your mouth, until your journey will be through.

As for the kinks on your tongue ect.. maybe try the old recepy, rince your mouth with, water & salt, several times a day.
Within a day or two, the kinks should be gone.

I'm sure some will come around and give you more advice on that one.

I went through a terrible bout of mouth/tongue ulcers. It really helped to switch to BIOTENE brand toothpaste and mouthwasth. The hardly ever flare up but my mouth is still sensitive to regular toothpaste. So I just stick with the BIOTENE.

Good morning Rynette. I had wicked issues wiith my mouth and tried several things from my doc. The only thing that worked was troches. You place the troche in your mouth and let it dissolve a few times per day depending on the issues in your mouth. I had super dry mouth and soreness on my tongue and roof of my mouth so badly that all I wanted to do was sleep cuz it hurt ALL DAY!! Anyway, the troches helped me big time. I wish the best for u! And dont give up the fight, before you know it, treatment will be done and then we pray for SVR!! That is where I am at right now. Finished 48 weeks of treatment in April 08 and go for my bloodwork in November to see if the hep is still in remission. My viral load before treatment was 6 million. Now it is undetectable!!

I do have a weird taster these days. I make something yummy, then sit down to eat it and it tastes funky to me. I always have to check with my husband about my cooking these days. I have had the canker sores on my tongue and mouth. I use the biotene mouthwash...it helps to cleanse the area, and does not burn like normal mouthwashes do. Make sure you are drinking your water too...it does make a difference.

Hi..I have had to askmy husband on alot of occasions to taste my juice or food as it tasted rancid to me..he always says it fine.....I have had weird things with my mouth my whole treatment..my teeth would hurt then its go away..I had only one sore..yet like 5starr said I had gotten this mouthwash for dry mouth etc and it really seemed to make a difference..............and yes use that hepc-survival guide as Mckenzie had sent to me too..its great!!!!!!! hang in there your doing great
