does anyone here know if this has been approved yet in Canada ..for anyone other than geno1's. I know they are covered and can access it but I am... geno 3a.... failed soc once and have cirrhosis stage 4 (compensated)
Im waiting for the news that it will be covered for 3's by trillium or section 8 as I have no private insurance !! Thanks ...its great to see all of you guys finishing solvaldi and being SVR don't finish the party without me I'll get there sometime lol Good luck and prayer to all |

Sovaldi is pan genotype but Sovaldi is only effective against Geno1, not geno 2 or 3 or...
Right now anything other than Sovaldi and Riba (and in some cases Interferon) is still in development stage.

He is geno 3 null responder but did get to non detect on week 4 of Sovaldi/IFN/Riba.
A rough journey for sure but so far it's working well for him.
..and loveEO one of those trials is open I am going to call next week and see if I qualify for one ..its an hour away but i could do that If I get tx not sure about the sides affecting me INF /riba dropped all my counts so low they had to use rescue meds then as it wasnt working well the quit tx at 12 weeks Waiting still longer I guess lo keep killing that dragon folks
Triple tx of Inteferon/Riba/Sovaldi is the choice for failed G-3's and especially for those with Cirrhosis.
I did Interferon/Riba for 6+ months and it failed. I am currently doing triple for 16 weeks and have two days left to end of tx...yes yes yes!
It has been a rough ride, but I have been undie since week 4+ and I'm sure I still am.
Sovaldi/Riba in 6 months doses is also an option though for failed g-3's 3 months of triple is tx of choice. My doctor decided to give me one more month, just to make sure. How thoughtful of him....lol
I live in S Ontario and was lucky enough to have private insurance.
