Has anyone seen any info on the previous 8 week trials? Gilead has only published SVR 8 results and not SVR 12. It is past due. I see where 12 weeks had a high percentage of SVR 12 but nothing on the 8 weeks. I am on the 8 weeks with ribavirin. Week one I went from 9 million vl to 53 vl. Week two- UND. I am hopeful but worry since Gilead hasn't published new results. In the ion 3 (the study I am in) the 12 weeks is blind and we don't get told results but if HCV is detected then we get a call a week later for more blood draw. Anyways....anyone know anything or was in the previous trials?

Sofi...you are virus FREE. As you given those numbers. You have a 1,285,706 virus drop /day. The newer test are going to 5vl if i am correct. means you should have not have a single live virus on the 8th day.
Their is a myth how the virus "comes back". Unfortunately the old test was SOC to #43, then Vertex developed #25, and the newest test are #5vl.Because some virus survived , in some case after the treatment they bounced back for some people.
I was always the firm believer of we got a way longer treatment as we need it, otherwise they couldn't justify the astronomical price for the treatment.

That is exciting. I am free. Rass, I have had a systemic reaction to the meds. I have nodules on my lungs and erythema nodosum in my legs with arthritic pain. I had to quit working and my mind went dark for awhile. My primary doc thinks I may have acute sarcoidosis triggered by the meds (basically my immune system wants the poison of ribavirin out of me and is attacking itself). He says it should all clear up once treatment ends. I have five days left and my legs have improved and I am back at work (still working reduced hours). Others have had mouth sores, hemolytic anemia, and thinning hair, and others have hardly any. I think we all have had insomnia and fatigue. All of us on the ribavirin that is. The others without the ribavirin seem to have almost nothing.

And Rass, it does beat months upon months of suffering.
