Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
While they're at it, they need to also let the "general citizenry" know how the insurance companies are discriminating against the heppers that aren't sick enough to even qualify for the drugs.
It's a very harsh reality for those of us falling into the cracks. Let's hope that by next year the new drugs coming out will indeed force the price down for all of us "have nots".
