I am happy to say that that is one addiction I never had but won't get involved in because I think if I did it would probably get out of hand.
Damn...am I just going on and on about myself tonight? Is it really annoying? I know some find it so just never really know how words in the ether are received....
anyway...
Hardest habit of any habit I've had a habit of.
Phillip Morris was my mortal enemy!
Okay but seriously, it seems nicotine and THC should all be vaporized these days. If only we could vaporize ETOH somehow!!
I have let my brother borrow my car in the past only to discover that he was smoking in the car when I opened the ashtray because of the smell inside and sure enough there were butts and ashes confirming that he smoked multiple times inside my car knowing full well beforehand that he was not to smoke at all inside the car either driving or parked when he had possession of my vehicle!!!
Because he showed a complete lack of respect and consideration towards me and my health by disregarding my only non-negotiable restriction I imposed to him while using my car!!!
So this time instead of making him feel so low that he would be playing handball of the sidewalk curb wall with my verbal barrage...
I took action by forbidding him to ever use my car ever again!!!
How does he respond approximately three weeks after I informed him of his punishment??? He went ballistic on me by threatening me with physical harm, and I ended up having to threaten him to back off with my "Zap" cane which he has already had a taste of previously so it was a "no-brainer" for him to back off!!!
Today he doesn't have the ability to go to certain places without being able to use my car and so he came over to practically begging me to take him to his dentist on Friday which is approximately 40 minutes away...
I told him that I would but, not to make a habit of asking me to drive you where ever or whenever you want because I'm not your personal taxi and this time as well as form now on you need to fork over some cash for gas because you lost all of your free ride privileges by smoking in my car and he reluctantly agreed to hand over a "ten-spot" for gas or else he would be forced to walk!
Do you think I was being too harsh on him???
This is why sometimes I feel like I'm a tad rough on smokers like my older brother who disrespects my personal well-being by smoking in places of mine like my apartment, or my car!
I no longer frequent or even think of visiting any of my friends who still smoke because of my personal health, and I will not venture into a bar or any other place if they allow smoking inside either so I usually spend a good part of my day in smoke free places like my apartment, the computer room and the gym downstairs, to couple of establishments locally, the Library and other places that are smoke free ,etc., etc., etc.
I quit just in the nick of time and yet I'm not too confident that I'll be without the need for oxygen in order to breathe normally because of what I subjected myself to in the past working as a metal fabricator/machinist/welder/boilermaker/iron worker/pipefitter/shipbuilder/welding and machine tools instructor...
And I will not let anyone else put myself at any further risk of injury to my body since I already did a pretty good job of that already!!!
I better stop here before I unintentionally insult, or have someone think that I'm indirectly attacking them because that's simply not true nor is it my desire to do so...
Anywho, that's my story and sticking to it!!! ;>) ;>) :>)~
Respectfully,
Hank
I am hyper sensitive to it now and can even smell it when my attached neighbor lights up.
I went out and bought a $400 hepa-filter air cleaner and run it full speed when I smell it.
I hate hate hate it!
The sour stench on my smoking client's lung breath makes me gag.
What a disgusting habit.
I worry about the walls and the curtains being contaminated by nicotine. My liver was being taxed for over 20 yrs, and has only been Hep C free, for a year now. I am imagining it will takes years to completely heal/regenerate, so I am really trying hard not to expose myself to toxins....especially the smelly ones.
I get a sore throat when I smoke regular ciggies, and the same goes for when I puff on his e-cig, it irritates my throat immensely.
