Sounds fun Bill. No comparison of course but when we had that major blackout last year in SoCal, mostly in San Diego, it ended up with neighbors actually talking to neighbors. I worked a long hospital shift that day to stay and help operations and patients get to where they needed to go. It was strange walking dorm the dark streets and stranger to drive them as I only saw one functional traffic light. A few bars and taco shoos remained open. When I got home though, there were maybe 20 neighbors down in the courtyard with food, tons of wine, well burned candles and having a great time. I joined them for a couple of hours as I hardly knew my neighbors in my complex and it was not going to be very exciting sitting alone in a dark apartment. But that was really fun and people shared similar stories for days about actual interaction with neighbors. We had no idea how long the power would be out for hours but were very pleased when it came on very late that night.

I hope everybody's power is restored quickly. In the meantime, be with those around you and get to know them. People can be quite fascinating really.

Agreed Ernie! We have a pretty cool neighborhood anyway but moreso in the summer. Do hope we still do Halloween tonight for the kids. In the summer when we loose power we roll a few grills into the yard and all pitch in like that and is usually a great time! was a little chilly for that this time.

Bill, it sounds like your making the best out of a bad situation. From what I've been seeing on the news it looks like a mess out there. Not good to say the least. Wishing everyone affected out east the best!

Got my power back @8;07 tonight! Sounds so good to have no more generators running! Its also great to be able to use my pc at home instead of work. Hope all are well and safe!
