Diabetes mellitus (DM) is also the leading cause of chronic kidney disease and failure, which affects approx 30 million and 500,000 people in the U.S. alone respectively. High blood pressure (hypertension (HTN)) is the second.

Obesity and inactivity are a pervasive way towards DM and HTN. Thought I'd add another PSA here.

Oh great - I've always had a suspicion of being 'borderline' diabetic and it's more than likely due to this HCV virus = :(. Have to exercise ALOT to keep from feeling like crap and also try to avoid SUGAR as much as possible.
