CassyKate - I've never been on interferon but have renal problems. Blood and protein in your urine are the indicators. I can't see the blood but it's there. Leaking protein makes your pee bubbly and your blood pressure will go up. Headaches and eye swelling were my first symptoms. Not peeing is when you really have to worry. I hope this helps and it gets better. Almost done!!

We're constantly drinking water! At least it feels that way to me. This drinking tons of water and peeing is no fun!

Have you talked to your doctor about this? Maybe you've got a UTI starting? I would call just in case..

Happened to me once too Cassy, but was in the middle of the night. Now I make sure that I stop drinking water and switch to pedialyte a couple of hours before bed. Didn't happen again, so far anyway.

i had something similar during my Vic adventure, but I wrote it off as old man bladder issues.

But, after reading your post, I realized that the issue is considerably less now then during treatment. And I had enough blood tests to keep Quest in business for a year so there were no medical issues. I asked Urologist about it and he said no big deal. The difference between us, besides age and sex, is that i never once had to get up from sleep, which surprised the doctor

But during the day, I'd get this need to pee and it needed to be resolved immediately.

I tend to agree with bagolady that we ARE drinking a lot of water, and the TX does make muscles tired and weak, and maybe some little retaining device in the kidney/ureter/bladder just doing a little poorer job of controling the flow.

CasseyK... Yes, I did notice changes similar to what you describe when I was on TX. However, as someone else mentioned to you here, be sure to tell your doc of theses symptoms so that he/she can check to see if you have a UTI (bladder infection). I had one once during treatment. Just be sure.

I too have noticed this...... and yes, i think it's all the water we drink. I have an overactive bladder and with so much water, i find myself in the bathroom bout every 10 minutes. My toilet paper bill has tripled...... lol

I have a slight problem at the other end..... thank God for panty liners.

Like we discussed a while ago....... don't assume it's a fart.

I had a few issues during tx, exp during bouts of hysterical laughing, and I figured it was due to weakening muscles, due to the tx.

Of course, talk to your DR about this problem.

After three large babies, I already had become aware of the need to scope out the closest potty place wherever I went. The problem definately got worse on tx. Then, of course, the "other end" started its craziness and I was hopeless. Yes, a line from one of my favorite movies "Never waste a hard on, never pass up a bathroom and, never trust a fart". Truer words were never spoke!! From "The Bucket List". Hence my decision to design running shorts that can accomodate a super depends. Your situation is probably treatment induced, but it would probably be a good idea to let your doc know. Praise the Lord and pass the TP. Love, Nancy

I have had pee control problems since the first day. It's the continual input of water.... And it's ok.

What I have found is that my brain shuts off the pee factor Oh I gotta go signal, and it doesn't turn on until it's too late...
In week 16?? I had A bladder/UTI...ouch....
I drink water right after every time I void ( urinate) to replace fluids.
I make certain I go in the middle of the night. I go when I walkby the bathroom on a good day. On regular days I can wait hours and not realize.

Never trust farts like peace and nj said. Keep baby wipes handy.
The surprise of stool is far overwhelming than pee....
Imho....

I'm Going into week 42 and yep, it's just grand.... And still undie so pee and fart n poop away!

I had the exact same problem - I blamed the weak muscles but I also had a terrible UTI - and no matter how many rounds of antibiotics I took -pills - shot rounds- more pills - more shots - it never went away - until all Tx ended - seems your body needs a good white count for the antibiotics to work -.it cleared up after Tx

@ Dalis - I'm so sorry you're getting so sick - did you dr give you some Zofran? I took it everyday while on Incivek - I still threw up sometimes on my shot weekend -.without it - i would have thrown up alot - good luck

Thank you everybody, for your replies. I did forget I am drinking tons o extra water. Due to being busy and not wanting to stop my errands, prior to Tx, I rarely drank water..it seems to want to come out faster.
And like jibi mentioned, my brain starts ignoring the signal after awhile...my skin in sensitive, I just dont want to have to pee again, so I must be subconciously holding it in, for quite some time.
I will have my Yearly Physical at EOT, and they will look at my urine, but I have always had a tiny bladder.
Yesterday and today I am drinking a cranberry and kefir mix, and it seems to have helped. But I also had my Interferon shot yesterday. It seems to me this prob tends to crop up, the day beore my Inf shot. maybe I'm addicted to it?
Well, I know I am psychologically addicted
to taking these meds, and eeling secure that they have made my virus Undie. But in less then 3 weeks, I will no longer have this crutch...so I am sure I will be going thru some emotional withdrawal symptoms.

I had the same problem too. I used to tell my friends, "When I stand up, I feel like I have to pee". Then it became,, "When I stand up, I pee!" Do get it checked out; mine subsided post tx.
