I have to say I'm not completely surprised because he did have his demons and was open about them - depression, addictions - fighting those and who knows what else for many years. He was so brilliant - so very brilliant and unique, and many of those people just cannot cope well in this world. Yes, it sucks, Kramer. Tragic.

Yes was sad to read. I texted a friend of mine when I saw the story break. This was their reply and it did make me chuckle a little. A little of him always went a long way and his persona was not always um . . . . funny. In fact, not all were fans of his work. I had mixed feelings about it myself but here goes:


"That's sad....I didn't like him...but I wasn't wanting him to die...just his movie career."

Although I did like him in The Dead Poet's Society and Good Will Hunting.

Very sad.

So hard to hide behind the humor he had...alot of pain there but I loved his humor...I too was the clown in the family...had to make everyone laugh and lighten the pain...noone ever addressed the pink elephant in the livingroom....still dealing with mine..but at least I am aware...hard hitting that brick wall...

I am grieving his loss... all the wealth, fame, love and adoration in the world cannot tame those inner demons sometimes. Depression can be a fatal disease. I lost my eldest to it.

and the depressed very often turn try to self-medicate creating still more demons...

It also can be in car in a closed garage...

Oh I was there too...ran out of gas...

Lost my husband to it...found him in the backyard...so much pain

I am shocked and deeply saddened.

RIP Robin, and thank you for the laughs.

I hadn't read but I heard this evening that he was recently dx'd with early Parkinson's disease? Is that true? That may have factored into his unfortunate decision as well.

I'm supporting a co-worker in this annual walk for suicide prevention this year. Well I was out of town last year when they started it but was able to donate some funds for the cause. A group of us are going as a co-worker's and their loved ones' lives were tragically changed forever. So sad and leaves a wake of devastation.
