Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I have severe Restless Leg Syndrome. It seems to have gotten a lot worse after my treatment, but maybe its just because Im getting older and it is a progressive disease. A little over a year ago, I finally got an appointment with a world renowned expert on the subject, but his office is in Houston, 3 hours away. The doctor prescribed some new, expensive meds, which help, but do not completely eliminate the symptoms.
I have a valid prescription for my meds, but the prior authorization has expired. I have called Express Scripts 5 times now. I received a different answer each time. Finally, on Friday I learned that the doctor needs to fax in a new authorization.
I called both my doctor and Express Scripts again this morning, the prescription still has not been filled. I will be completely out by Friday, and will not be able to sleep at all, and will be in SEVERE discomfort.
No one at Express Scripts seems to care. They have taken zero ownership of the problem, and all their agents seem to be able to do is apologize and tell me to call back. At least my doctors office said they would look into it, submit an urgent request, and call me back to confirm.
Express Scripts, on the other hand, seems to have no concern at all for my well-being.
