OT Lost kitty

Well just when I thought things couldn't get any worse for me emotionally, it did. My prescious kitty has ran away. It has been over a week since I have seen him and I am going through withdrawls. I only had him for almost exactly a year and grew very very close to him. I know some people think it's foolish to get all bent out of shape over a CAT. But my Louie was so sweet and loving when he wasn't outside on the prowl for anything he could get his paws on. My husband keeps telling me not to give up hope yet. But, with everday that passes that hope seems to be turning to sadness and fear. I miss the way he would cuddle up against me in bed and the way he would mew at me for food. He would ofter give me a little kiss before he got his food. A little trick I taught him. Better stop reminising (spell check please) or the flood of tears that comes down my cheeks will damage the laptop. Thanks for listening gang.

That's a real heart breaker bestshot. I do hope he finds his way home. I have kitties too and love them very much so I can certainly feel your anxiety and grief.

BTW he is a year old now so does have a chance of surviving so keep up hope!

Never give up hope.........cats and dogs surprise us all the time.
Just yesterday, saw on the news a dog who went missing years ago.....I forget how many, but it was a lot of years........and now just was found again. :)

and, fyi, it is not foolish and God knows , especially with health or other problems , how much comfort and joy they bring us !

I know exactly how you feel. We lost our precious Homer about two months ago. There is an open field behind our house, and my theory is a rattlesnake got him, but of course I have no proof.

It is amazing how a cat can be so independent, and yet so loving at the same time. Homer loved to prowl for lizards all night, but then would curl up next to my mouse pad and nap, knowing I couldn't resist patting him.

We adopted a new kitty a couple of weeks ago. Rufus (the Doofus), is very sweet, but sickly. He sneezes all the time and has a runny nose and slight fever. The vet is not worried, but I am. At least he has a home.

Hey girl...............Louie might have stumbled on some "lady" in heat........and is hanging around for sloppy seconds...........when he is done.........he'll be hungry and return home..............so don't give up hope yet:):)

I know how you feel, and I'm praying he comes back. I was in a new town with my old cat and the cat & dog & I went to the beach - it was spring, no big crowds, and as we were walking back up to the boardwalk the cat got spooked & ran under the brdwlk and through to the bungalos there. I couldn't find him. I was staying in a motel several blocks away (we had driven to the beach, over a little bridge). Ten or so days later the cat was meowing at my sister's door at the motel. I had left, and she was temporarily staying there, across the courtyard from where I had been staying. She hadn't been there when the cat was there, but he remembered her smell I guess. So I got my beloved pal back.

I sure as hell don't think it's foolish. I lived with my beautiful for cat for 19 years and she died a few months ago. I wasn't bent out of shape I was totally broken. I didn't want to be without her. I started drinking again after she died and when I was drunk I'd forget she was dead and walk around my apt. looking for her and then remember and freak out.

I really hope you find her.

ps- joep, this would NOT be a good time for you to chime in and chastise me for mentioning alcohol, but i obviously can't stop you.

Best, was he neutered? If not then he's probably courting some lady cat. He might be first in line, who knows?

Peaceful, that's a very inspiring story you shared. All I can say is wow and thanks!

Kat, Sorry to hear anout your cat dying. If you get a new kitty, it might help with your grief.

Im so sorry that can sometimes be worst than a telative to me. ut anyways if he is a male They tend to do that. He went off to find his own family with a female cat is usually what happens. I would sujest getting another one. It might help mend the broken part.

Thanks again everyone for all your support. Hepcat, he was neutured!! It's another day and night gone by, Good Lord my heart hurts. It'slike loosing a part of the family. Not even near cried out yet!!!! Have to go back to work tomorrow and don't want to be a blubbering idiot. Chrsit when are things going to turn around.
