With all the RIBA in my blood this was the last thing I needed. I got a call from Visa Fraud on Sunday night telling me about suspicious activity on my debit card. I pull up my app and there it was and it was all in Virginia.
I had to spend a couple hours on the phone yesterday which was very stressful. Then had to send journey or so at my bank. Bad news is they wiped out my checking account. Good news is I will get all my money back. Bad news is it will be 20-45 days before I get it back. Good news is I maintained my composure and did not let the RIBA rage take over even though I might have felt better

About a month or so ago.. My bank issued new cards.. Said they were compromised.. Shitty times we live in with cyber crime. I check my bank balance daily.. .
I had never given out my number or thrown docs in the garbage so it (my SIN)must have been "sold" by a govt. employee on the black market.
It was then that I found out the onus was on me to sort it all out or pay tax on the illegal earnings. Weeks of standing in lines and filling out forms I finally had a melt down at the tax office and started screaming "I'm not gonna do this anymore!!"
I went to my local federal party member and he finally sorted it out for me.
Regarding your situation Clay you are lucky the bank is covering your losses. A lot of people don't realize not all will. Most major bank Visa Mastercard will but other like "Joe Blow's Mastercard" will leave you in the lurch. It's always good to find these things out!
As a former victim of identity theft - it is awful what you go thru.
