I'm not sure what you are taking but you can check out your meds at

Then, I developed anxiety and the gave me valium (generic) and I was afraid to take it!!! I eventually did and it worked great, and they wanted to put my on zoloft instead and for over a year I refused to take it cause I was scared of it too. I have since been off valium and on to zoloft for about 4 months. Personally, I liked the valium better cause the only side effect was the sleepiness, the zoloft gives me dry mouth/throat overall. To quote my new doc, "Having a little dry mouth is better than feeling poopy all the time." LOL I love her.
I am comforted in the fact that I can change any med if it is not working for me, and you should too. :D
I also think an anti-anxiety is in order and will help you greatly. Maybe see a hypnotist to overcome your anxiety of taking medication that will help you overcome your anxieties??? :-)
I learned that meds are not to be abused ro taken lightly, but when they are needed they can be a what need to get cured or survive a chronic illness with quality of life.
Like everything -- it's about BALANCE! Not taking medication that is needed can be just as harmful as taking too many you don;t really need.
Paxil has some serious sides, and there has been more negative stuff published this year. Since the Ribavirin is so known for skin issues, I would think it could be triggering the shingles. I guess they are trying to use more drugs to calm down the shingles. I wouldn't like the plan too much either. JB
