I saw a couple on the way home from work today. The lady (girl) was pushing a baby carriage and her "man" was walking a pit bull, not on a leash but on a chain - the kind you use to pull a truck out of the ditch. WTF. "Stop teasing the dog sweetpea, you don't want to end up losing an arm like your brother"

not sure why you'd expect much more from a company that used child labor in Pakistan, Cambodia, etc.

And anyone who eats commercial meat/poultry in the U.S. inadvertently contributes to extreme animal abuse. The information about this is easy to come by but most would rather just look the other way.

If animals are killed for food, at least kill them humanely for fuck's sake.

..or don't eat them ... or be honest about it and rear and slaughter your own. That is why I gave up eating meat. Every time I would see a tractor trailer full of critters headed for the abattoir my stomach would drop, yet I would then go out and buy a nicely package tray of meat.

How horrible! I've been a loyal Air Pegasus wearer for over a decade and now I'll have to switch. Ironic they would do this during pit bull awareness month. I don't eat meat because of my love for animals, so how can I buy NIke. Though maybe if enough of us protest, they'll drop him.

I am thankful for second chances...he did his time..and made changes in his life..while i am not overlooking that his crime is and was deplorable...i blame thr NFL..in part..they give these guys millions upon millions of dollars..with no guidance on how to live or spend it..some or most are from lower socio-economic backgrounds...and while it is deplorable..dog fighting is a part of a cultute..disgusting yes..
i know i appreciate the second chances that i have been given..i have made some pretty shitty mistakes in my life..hopefully i have become a better person..

I tried to look this up online and it seemed they re-signed him over a year ago. all the petitions were closed. So did something else just happen? I'm surprised I didn't hear about it when it happened.

Also, during a pit bull awareness event where they brought puppies, someone poisoned the puppies. Some people are so sick!

p.s. I believe in second chances, too, and I certainly haven't lived a perfect life. But some things are in a different category, and to me, this is one of them. I don't believe he changed at all or is sorry about anything other than getting caught. I wrote to Nike today and told them I'll never buy another NIKE product. I've been spreading the word as well.

Gotta say I'm with you on that one Brigid. There are "mistakes people make" and there is downright sick and twisted ..and that is in someone's very nature.

I guess i just feel that I have been forgiven for much....and while i am by no means a softy...and i have strong lines that if ya f**k with...i am done...but idk...i don't want to get in a pissing contest over this one...but i think he has been given a second chance & is utilizing it well...though he does tend to fumble the ball alot...
and wtheck...I will say this...I was raped when i was younger...the guy went to prison for years...i hope he found rehabilitation...became a productive member of society...would i wanna have dinner with him...no...but if he turned his life around...he deserves to be able to live that life,,...
