There are so many stories about health workers being completely stupid and insensitive. I am obsessing over my 5 week result. My nurse (the only one there who doesn't have a heart of stone) is on vacation. So I call them for my results. Please. I need to know. Well they can't be freaking bothered to look around for this envelope. And anyhow, they couldn't give it to me cause I'd need someone to interpret it. ARE YOU NUTS? Interpret the results? WHATS THE VL, BABE? Yeah, that's right. How many swimmers do I have? I'm not asking for a smile or a kind word or anything really crazy like that. I JUST WANT ONE THING: MY RESULTS.

Oh, actually, I want one other thing. You know that enormous stack of 2 year old chick magazines you have in the waiting room? Would it be possible to get just ONE hunting or fishing magazine or anything that doesn't have the word "makeover" on the cover? Huh? Would that be ok?

get a copy of your blood work, they cant refuse you. I get a copy of all my bood work and they hate itAlso you can request a copy be sent to you from the lab.

Don't feel bad Moineau....Lab Corp is just as FUBAR.
They faxed the results to the wrong fax number because the tech who put in the data wasn't smart enough to see on the lab request the correct number. So, when they sent it out to get analyzed the person faxing the results back to Mayo just automatically sent it to the old number in there data base.
I hate having to do other people's jobs. The hospital says its up to the patient to see if it's faxed and the lab will not take the correct information from the patient. Anyway, being the tenacious soul that I am I got what we needed but it really yanked my chain.
If it was a local issue like your's believe me someone would have been in there face. Gee, this was yesterday and I'm still p.o'd about it.
Get those results! Good luck...and I hope it all works out for you.

I waited about four weeks, I think. My Dr. was on vacation...and they said for vl results...it could be 3 weeks. It was such a hard wait!
It's just part of this process, I guess....hurry up and wait. (thanks LHC:)

i have them give me copies of all my blood work--then again i have really nice nurses

do they have any "highlights" magazines? remember them? LOL

what burns our asses up over Kaiser is that we can get pretty much all our lab results online, except for the viral load..arrrrrrrr!..

My doctor gives me my CBCs when I walk out the door.The major work up takes about 10 days to get the results all back,then they call me .At least they did for the 4 week and 12 week. Keep after them , the sticky wheel get the grease kind of thing or is it the squealing wheel gets the grease , I know someone gets the grease..Be persistent and a pain in their butt until you get results.

I understand what your saying "the squeling wheel gets the grease" but it just is so messed up dont these people realize what hell we are going thru while waiting for these results it sucks. Moineau I hope you get them asap I know how you feel. My doc is on vacation too and I had my ab Scan moved up only to find out he wont be there to see me so I had to put my date back to the four month wait they originally gave me. I think if someone is on vacation they should have someone covering for them.,good luck dude. dd

Sometimes healthcare workers can be so insensitive you should tell them how you feel! Maybe going up there will help.

Hmmmm. Was that a bit of a riba-mental-rant??? Thx for the support guys... I'll take your advice and ask them to send me the results directly. Not holding my breath. I'll bring my own freaking magazines. Take care. Get well.

I hear you on that, hell my nurse said she never heard of anyone having any bothersome side effects from the tx, which I knew was a total lie. I was pissed for months over that one, then I just decided to get a new doctor.I have Kaiser so all my test results are suppose to be there, but they alway's hold back the vl, I don't know why that is, but sounds suspicious or something, very odd anyway.
