.My doc said that the blood vessels in the nose are near the surface and the air is too dry and that lets them bleed more often
AND the reason (for me) that they bleed a long time is my very low platelet count( 52)
She gave me a nasal gel called Secaris and I apply it twice a day ..The nose bleeds have almost stopped in the last few months I hope this helps
I have also started the use of a room humidifier used only distilled water and the frequency of nosebleeds are becoming less and way less than before so I'm truly grateful for my humidifier.
I still have them and it's mainly because I'm on oxygen 24/7 that my membrane bleed as they do so until I get off the oxygen, I have to accept that I'm going to have them. Still, it's really good to know that one can lessen both the frequency and intensity of the nose bleeds. I hope you find relief because I know exactly what you're going through and it is truly a drag and a half. Maybe even more than that.
Occasional Advil or Aleve after a long walk or yoga class.
I suspect its because of the dry air during the winter months.
I am more concerned because it's already been coderized twice since the begining of the year.
I will try the turmeric as I was not aware of it.
Thanks again
