The BIG news here is that this NC Phase I/II trial will test a one shot cure of TT-034.

Around 2 or 3 years ago, someone had posted they were doing a tx that was just one shot, and spent the weekend in the hospital.

I can't remember if they ever came back and said if it worked or not.

Well that is concerning oOooOooOooOo.

A one shot cure is close but still not the morning after pill I fantasized about. One shot though, man that would've spared a lot of tx time many of us would like to forget.

It could be iffy but the idea is very cool. One shot.

If it works it could be even better than the new orals.

Yes, that would be my fear. The article said it was a Phase I/II trial. Well, it has to be a I or a II, it can't be both.

Personally, I would only participate in a Phase III trial. By then they know if it works, what the sides are and are just testing for dose and length of treatment.

But the idea of a one shot tx is intriguing... Anybody ever heard of the company doing the trial? Benitec Biopharma Limited? I've never heard of them.

Trial drugs always have their risk for certain even drugs newly FDA approved. Here was another reminder recently in the ESRD community that's important to know about. An ESA drug recall on Omontys:

Oh I meant to add that this reaction was not seen in the trial groups until it went out to the general ESRD population. It seems that the n wasn't large enough.
