Hello to all my fellow heppers. Well it goes without saying this has been a long time coming. I have the genotype 1a and have had it for maybe 40 years. Been suffering for the past 4 years with the side effects of the disease. Have never been treated before and am totally excited about this new drug Harvoni. OMG, if this cures 94-100% then this will go down in history similar to penicillin. I have made an appt. with the Gastro but can't get in until next month...darn it! Let's hope my insurance does not give me any problems. I am so happy that soon I will get to hear that beautiful word, "Undetectable". I want my life back so I can watch my grandchildren grow up.
I've been amazed at all of the success stories already just from the meds previously approved. Finally, after all the years of R & D something was developed and now many lives will be saved because of it. However, can't help noticing the outrageous price of the drug. This means not everyone will be afforded the same opportunities and to me that is just pure shameful. I pray that those people are shown some mercy from the drug companies. Man's inhumanities to man. But I digress.
What can I say except that I am very proud to belong to a group that has such compassion and empathy for all those suffering from this horrible disease. God bless all of you on your journey to wellness!

I wish you the best of luck as you go forward with treatments. Yes, we are so blessed that there are now treatments out there to cure Hep C. I completed the combo of Sovaldi and Olysio over 12 weeks ago and now my labs are showing undetected. I too had the virus for a very long time, had a liver transplant 4 years ago, then recurrence of the Hep C in my transplanted liver. I'm praising God for these new drugs. Marilyn here is one of our strongest troopers. Hers is a real inspiration story - a brave, strong woman who wanted so much to live - and get rid of the virus forEVER. She did it.
I hope you are not experiencing much damage fro hcv. No rush for you, its a slow moving disease, and with so many good treatments out there you'll be on one very soon. Best wishes!
