This article doesn't exactly encourage the idea, but then again, even their description of moderate drinking is way more than what I'm contemplating. I don't know. I've got 110 days sober now, which is kind of cool...and the clarity is cool most of the time...but sometimes I want to turn that damn clarity off for a while.
I actually think doctors should prescribe a very minimal amount of medication for recreational use. This may sound stupid, but I wouldn't be tempted to go back to alcohol if I could just say "Doc, I need to get loose once in a while - like twice a month. Got any pills that won't hurt the liver?"
But I think I'm still sufficiently freaked out about this virus to prevent me from getting stupid in the foreseeable future.
With drinking, I mean...
I don't like to see anyone suffering a sense of guilt about their choices. Keep focusing on the goal you've chosen, take baby steps toward it, & eventually it will come.
I haven't touched alcohol or pot in many years long before my diagnosis. I don't need anything to relax or free me from pain. Guess thats a blessing. What others do is none of business. So long as you have the information you want, go forth & love life.
Under the "Living with" it strongly advises no alcohol and marijuana "may" increase fibrosis.
I have done so much research on HCV and MJ and cannot find any statement that declares that MJ does harm the liver, just that it "may" increase fibrosis.
Now I know smoking cigarettes is a bit no no for the liver so I asked the Dr. his comments on vaporizing (no smoke) and edibles and he shrugged his shoulders, don;t know.
So ..for me it is an informed decision to enjoy a "little" amount of MJ by vaps or snacks... no smoking.
I cheated and glanced through your past posts for a clue...although I did it so fast, I might still be clueless...
It's somewhere in Kentucky?
I can grow 15 plants and have some 20+ oz's on hand....just for fun. No medical reason.
However if Civil war breaks out, the feds could burn me down. Sounds like Dixie all over again.
I dont smoke or grow anymore, just miss fiddlin with the plant.
