The MPP wrote back today and said they are waiting for a reply from the Ministry of health and long term care about Harvoni for me ..now I just have to get the doc on board with Harvoni rather than Sovaldi/riba (possibly + inf )
My PCP does not think my body can take more Inf/riba so Im praying hard !!

I pray this works - it can be so hard when you have to rely on ins/your Parliament to decide if you get tx.

So yes, it would be a choice (and a GOOD one) for you. I think you would take the Riba with it since you are tx experienced.

SOVALDI - typo duh

So I saw the doc today ..He is going to submit another appeal to the EAP on compassionate grounds and he is going to try Gilead again too, but he really thinks that Solvaldi/Riba for 24 wks will be the only one they will consider not Harvoni He does agree my body wont take INF again !
He was a bit of a downer ,saying he submits appeals and they all get turned down ..and it is only a 70-80% chance of a cure ..I told him that was better than the 45-50% I had on SOC.!!
He also said I and about 15 of his patients are in the grey area/precarious line, because we are so sick but not sick enough to be approved by only a one or 2 points difference in Child- Pugh score ,. He seemed VERY frustrated by this ,.actually a bit angry ...He does say I have good grounds for a compassionate appeal
. I guess it is still a waiting game for me ..
I have to have a complete pelvic and abdominal cat scan and 4-5 weeks of Iron infusions ... Hes hoping this will help for now ...
I'll keep praying and waiting and agitate some more trouble and see if the media will help ???
I feel down about this ..but I damn well wont quit!!
one thing I hate
When your Hep doc tells you that a side effect you have is not caused by the hep C .. when we many of us have the same sides , and my own PCP/and gastroenterologist says it is.. even the Canadian Liver foundation says digestive problems/muscle wasting etc are a major side of stage 4 cirrhosis....grrr I swear I'll hang one day !!! lol
ah well back to being a squeaky wheel

Thanks for the link CatM I appreciate it I would do Sovaldi/Riba ..24 wks ..or Harvoni and Riba .12wks ..looks like at this point I will probably have to Riba either way ..But probably not Inf ..thank goodness
better than nothing....
