Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Hi Everyone-
I finally got my results back from the liver biopsy. I'm a stage 1/grade 1.
This is great news! My doctor said that she typically would not recommend treatment at this time, but it was up to me. I opted not to at this time. For now I will try to manage this through a healthy lifestyle. We will check my liver functions every 6 mo and if all stays normal I will have another bx in 5 years to see if there have been any changes.
I want to thank everyone for all the support you've giving me the last 2 months. I really appreciate it. It's been quite the roller coaster ride!!

If I had the choice in the matter, I would definately make the same choice.
Just remember no alcohol at all, and keep on top of your enzymes at least every six months, and You should be fine.
A person can live decades with the virus of hep c, live healthy and in the end die from a unrelated health problem.
Promise us to keep us posted on your six months enzyme report.

MY BIOPSY CAME BACK STAGE 1 W/MINIMAL SCARRING,DR. LEFT IT UP TO ME AS WELL. UNFORTUNATLY, I ALSO HAVE FIBRO.,C.F.S.,RHEU. ARTH. AND HIGH CHOLESTEROL. ASKED HOW I COULD FEEL SO SICK IF MY LIVERS SO HEALTHY,GUESS(ACCORDING TO DR.)THE STATE OF YOUR LIVER DOESN'T DETERMINE HOW SICK YOU FEEL.HARD TO BELIEVE I KNOW.
