i'm having a thyroidectomy on 17 november. does anyone know if having no thyroid has an effect on the liver or tx? being as the thyroid controls the whole metabolism, i wondered if no thyroid would cause probs with tx.
also, i am having breast op for ca at the same time. does anyone know if tx is delayed because of cancer or chemo? someone told me that you had to be cancer clear for 5 years before tx for hepc can commence, but i cant find anything to confirm this.
thanks everyone in advance.
have a good weekend and keep smiling cos a smile goes a long way towards a positive outcome:)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have just had my thyroid tested as my doctor thinks I've got a lot of symptoms of underative thyroid, and apparently it's more common in those with hep c.
You sound like you're having a really bad time, please call on me if you need me, and I wish you a speedy recovery.
Much love xxx
hope your thyroid tests come back good.
and hope your weekend is just wonderful.
you take care my friend:)
As I reflect on your question I remember the temporary sides: overwhelming fatigue, bone aches, and loss of hair. I delayed the operation for months so endured the sides until surgery. The surgery is pretty much pain-free and the scar is barely noticeable. Not a big deal as I look back on it. Hope I can say the same for tx.
Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. This is indeed the year to concentrate on you.
AND have a really good weekend:)
