Life Insurance

Just tried to get life insurance with my wife, but was not accepted due to my illness, even tho I have been UND for many months now. Anyone know if this is a usual practice, and whether this may ultimately change?

My credit union told me to wait until I was done with TX and then it would go to the board for review...
When I bought my house , an ins. policy man came out and said they would send me to have bloodwork done and many were being approved even though they had LOW counts on labwork..he told me don't worry about it and was ready to take a deposit , ofcourse...I never followed through with it...still waiting for 24EOT decide later...not going anywhere LOL

I say it is discrimination!! File a lawsuit LOL.

I would have your doctor write a letter and if they still don't accept you, then start a lawsuit. Maybe you can start a class action.

Maybe they can do an exclusion for liver cancer but I don't think that is fair either.

Try another insurance company. Maybe that one was too small and you were considered too much of a risk for them to handle.

Werty - you need to get in touch with an insurance broker. I just discovered there are many different types of life insurance and some do not require medical screening. They can do an exclusion for pre-existing conditions. You need to talk to a broker who has knowledge of all the following policies. Don't go directly to the insurance company, better to go through a broker who can find you the best policy for your circumstance and best rate.

Damn, they better not consider us as having Hep C once we are cured..

I think if you get renewable and convertible insurance you can switch from policy without a medical check
