Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I started milk thistle right away...it helps to protect the liver and lemon juice with water...clean frest water
God Bless You ... it is going to be OK
1. Stop smoking and drinking, if you're into that. Get exercise, eat well, and take care of yourself.
2. Find a good gastroenterologist or hepatologist who has treated HCV before.
3. Have them genotype your virus and check your viral load. Your genotype will determine your course of treatment.
4. You may want to get a liver biopsy as well. This will tell your doc how much liver damage you have, and also influences your treatment.
5. Start treatment ASAP. It's not fun, but the treatments today are FAR easier and more successful than when I successfully did it two years ago. You'll beat this.
6. Start enjoying the rest of your life without the HCV cloud over your head. :-)
