Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Just wanted to drop in and say a quick hello to everyone. Would really like to know how you all are doing. Drop me a line, let me know who's still here and who's new. My thoughts are always with you all even though I may not be here very often. Life has gotten very busy for me these past few months. In a good way!! As far as I know the virus is still gone. Time will tell.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Can you share what your situation was - fibrosis, geno and what kind of tx and how long ago you finished?

I am on day 27 of Harvoni.

hep C has been gone for 9 or 10 months, but I can't get over the iron deficiency anemia that's gragging be down. I'm sure it stems from my transplant 4 1/2 years ago. I'm seeing a hematologist, taking iron, eating chicken livers and other high iron foods, but still anemic. But so far, no return of the liver cancer that led to my transplant, however, I may have progressed to Cirrhosis in my second liver before starting the hep c treatments back in April. But I'm still pushing ahead-age 70 now.
