This version makes a whole lot more sense. Liver disease FIRST - we don't know what kind, but think we of all people can speculate and NOT JUDGE. So that spider bite probably was extra serious because of his compromised immune system - which had to keep fighting the "flesh eating" disease caused by the bite AND the liver disease. In the end, too much for his liver - failure. RIP, Jeff.

I am spraying the whole inside of our house today - I see spiders all the time here in the desert southwest - never liked them but never feared them (except black widows, which we do have, and brown recluses, which we don't have here) until now. I and we who are fighting this virus have to remember that our immune systems are on "red alert" 24/7 and working overtime. Add something really stressful to our systems, and our immune systems eventually start going haywire - like mine has.

Well written article. It states pretty much what I had suspected. Too bad the main stream media missed for the most part an opportunity to educate and inform. Hopefully articles such as this will rise to the top of the news world pap.

The spider bite didn't kill thrash metal guitar god Jeff Hanneman, who died May 2 of liver failure.

"We've just learned that the official cause of Jeff's death was alcohol-related cirrhosis," says a statement posted Thursday evening on Slayer's website. "While he had his health struggles over the years, including the recent necrotizing fasciitis infection that devastated his well-being, Jeff and those close to him were not aware of the true extent of his liver condition until the last days of his life.

"Contrary to some reports, Jeff was not on a transplant list at the time of his passing, or at any time prior to that. In fact, by all accounts, it appeared that he had been improving he was excited and looking forward to working on a new record."

The 49-year-old founding member of Slayer hadn't been on the road with the group since 2011, when he contracted necrotizing fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease, most likely brought on by a spider bite.
