1 month for me & that was when it was delivered also !!!

I called my doc the day Harvoni was approved (Oct. 10). Had approval & started meds on Halloween. I was relentless. I called Gilead Support Path & they were an awesome advocate working with my doc & ins. I called my doc every other day. When he had sent pre-authorization exception letter to my ins. I contacted my ins. & basically demanded a response. Either approve or deny so I could appeal & go through Gilead. Advocate for yourself. Some people are saying 6-8 wks from initial request to approval. I personally think that is way too long. I am fortunate that my ins. BC/BS Medicare Advantage PPO approved. There was no Solvadi rep for my area in FL so my doc was flying blind for awhile & he relied on my info. to get ahold of Gilead. We already had labs done in Sept. so that part was good to go too. My insurance company approved in 2 or 3 days. All of my delays have been at my doctors office. Drugs were supposed to be delivered tomorrow, but pharmacy called and they were out of stock. Maybe I will get meds on Wednesday.

Technically, over a year as I was originally told I would TX in November 2013 when Solvaldi came out. My HMO would still have me on a waiting list if I'd let them sway me. And I had to make certain lifestyle commitments for 6 mos before approval, like losing weight & being completely drug & alcohol free. Once I was approved for the triple TX, the Harvoni approval was fast as it proved cheaper to give me 8 weeks of Harvoni than 12 weeks of triple TX.

I have BCBS in Pa. It took less than two weeks from when I seen the doctor. Pharmacy called me within a week. $35 Copayp.

Recieved Harvoni this past Monday but on the advise of the doctor I am going to wait until Dec 4th to start. I am dealing with chest congestion and sinus issue that I am taking zythromyicin for.
