The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

Just had my one year post Tx blood taken, a few weeks late because I was traveling, and I am a little nervous about the result. I have no reason to be nervous, as I have been UND since week 5 of the 24 week Sov/Rib Tx. I don't think I'd be human if I were nonchalant about it!
Liver Ultrasound on Tuesday, and again, no reason to be nervous as I try hard to look after myself. Still have some anxiety tho!

I'm sure you'll be clear but nothing says it like a lab report! Some of us will have to continue liver tests, we've had the virus a long time doing it's sneaky damage. Best to be assured there are no suspicious changes.

Well, the liver panel came back and that all looks very good. Waiting on the ultrasound results, and it seems they may have neglected to check the Hep VL in the blood panel. Waiting to hear on that, but Christmas has got in the way of efficiency it seems!

I am always nervous and a basketcase with the labwork and then my ultrasound.

I would have preferred not to see the results, but time heals.

I have remained clear (finished tx Sept 2014) and your bloodwork
being all okay is a great indicator that you are fine.

It is the same for a lot of us - so hard to believe this miracle.
