I am glad to hear about this new drug - ecstatic!!
I had to do the ultraound, biopsy, etc.....It all sucks, but helps you in the long run.
8 weeks - if only (I can't go back now, but it sounds like a cakewalk)
Good luck!! Don't get too down on waiting, these tests are for your own good......I know it is hard to wait, I waited 3-4 months for approval after the other stuff....I think too many people in line for tx.
I just found out it looks like United Healthcare could take up to 30 days to approve my Harvoni....darn it!
Still better than the alternative!
God bless!
Healing Hearts
Those of you who are waiting for these new drugs that never went through the older tx's are very, very fortunate that you didn't have to suffer like many of us folks who went through tx's and some more than once on different tx's ot some who like myself even went through a liver transplant only to find out afterwards that the virus returned. Please do not fall into the trap of despair because it can cause a paralyzing effect in how you feel about your current situation from the stress alone!Try your best to stay positive because you are very, very fortunate to be in need to be treated at a time when these fascinatingly miraculous new drugs are either available or are very close to becoming available for you to treat with. Many of those among the folks who waited so long for these drugs are no longer with us and whole lot of us had to suffer tremendously because we weren't at the right place at the right time as you folks are currently in
I can honestly say to you that your situation is going to be a TEMPORARY ONE! When many of us were waiting so long to get on the treatment that's currently available, we couldn't come out with the same level of confidence we have currently that from now on anyone who's waiting to be on the new treatment will no longer have to fear if they will ever be cured from HCV. Because they will be cured soon enough and we know that you will no longer have to suffer like we did.
And that's not to say that we were or are any better than you at all!
I'm saying this to you so that you don't have to go through al of the stress and frustration we went through - that's all. So please do not misunderstand my intent for saying this to you because I only wish all of you a speedy recovery from this disease and I'm full of hope, and I am now confident that the cure for you is just around the corner and that it will be with you way before you have to go through anyway near the suffering we went through so please try to stay positive and it's okay to become frustrated but, just don't let it overwhelm and paralyze you from going about living your life because it's only a matter of a short period of time for all of you who have yet to go on treatment. I wish all of you the best and a speedy recovery!
