Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
No prescriptions it's a natural product.
Some Doctors are against it, and even I read from researchers, they were also against it.
But I've known this man, who used himself as a human geanny* pig, along with his liver doctor, and did all kinds of experimental clinical trial base treatment, for exactly 10 years, and always, had his stock of Mistle Toe, so that's good enough for me.
I've never considered getting some, but since it says it good for fibrosis linning, I might try it, never was for herbal or natural stuff either, but who knows, might help in alting my fibrosis.
Had a ultrasound in January of last year for a unrelated issues, and the technician wrote on her report, consistent fibrosis scarring, so that's when I knew that I had more than stage and grade 1, cause at stage or grade 1, no fibrosis scarring occurs, only at stage 2 or 3.
I sometime wish I could get another biopsy now, almost 5 years post treatment.
I just might ask my PCP to get MY gi to do one on me in 6 months.
I'm curious to see how active the fibrosis is even though I no longer have hep c.
Sorry I'm thinking out loud, and getting off topic.

I have no experience with the stuff, it's just from my friends perpective.
I know doctors prefer not even answering questions about it, since it is a natural healer.
Hope this helped.
I'm not on treatment, but I did ask my Hepatologist what he thought about Milk Thistle and he surprised me with his answer. He said that, if I were going on treatment he thought it might be worth taking, but, otherwise, don't bother.
So, currently, I don't think there is any hard evidence one way or the other as obtained by a rigorous, scientific, study. Although Dr. Weil's article does mention a study that has been initiated.
