Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Transmission route for hepatitis A, is through raw fish, dirty water, feces, transmitted orally.
The Incubation Time (acute infection) is 15 to 50 days.
Onset, Sudden
Severity, they say Mild, but I had it in 94 and I was sick like a dog, no treatment, only time heals, and again, more than 50 days in my case.
Chronic Form? no
Associated with other diseases? none
Testing to Diagnose Acute Infection. These are tests required to see if the Hep a is active, HAV-Ab, IgM.
Testing to diagnose Chronic infection or to Monitor treatment? N/A

Tests that detect previous infection? HAV-Ab, IgG
When I went for my vaccine for hep B, I was told only B since they saw the antibodies of the hep A in my blood, so yes the antibodies shows in my blood.

If there's a vaccine out there, I want it.
Found out I have antibodies for HepB so must have had at on time and auto cleared which is rare.
Just got HepA shot last week.
So I'm covered....I recommend everyone w/HepC get tested for both and get shots if not infected.....
