I strongly advise that you get this advice from a good liver specialist, as all people are different and have different needs, e.g., you with your diabetes and pain issues. Tx is nothing to fool around with and you should be getting this advice from your doc or nurse.

im finding with tx , that list could change fast .. it is different for everyone , ive never heard the same story , im finding we are all different so we dont have the same emotions as others and im finding treatment is what you make of it !! good luck or should i say prayers to you as you start your journey ! i went fom just prozac to im now on a mood stabilizer , but im sure one of our dsers will help you with this one ,

That sux, my doc helps me with anything I need.The tx affects everyone a bit different.Me I just take it one day at a time, cause I never know what's going to pop up.

My God! Your doc sounds like a quack if he is reluctant to prescribe anything to help with the sides. I went to my family practicioner for help with the sides. GI Specialists, and Liver docs don't like to prescribe much. My family doc prescribed me meds for the sides: oxycodone for pain, lexapro for anxiety, effexor for depression, promethagan for nausea, and seraquil for sleep. I did tell my GI all the meds that my family doc gave me for the sides, and he was okay with it. Perhaps you need to go to both docs. There is no way I would have completed tx without the help for the sides. I even had to have a blood transfusion because I got so damn anemic! That was ordered by my family doc when I went in to his office for nausea. I was that dehydrated and low on everything! I hope you seek help elsewhere, you deserve help through this. my doctor has prescribed a few things for me, but reluctantly and only after i complained a lot! (something for itching and something else for nausea) i felt like i was gonna go crazy if it didn't get something!

he says that every single pill (except milk thistle) we take will have an adverse effect on the liver and may cause the liver enzymes to elevate. i'm not even supposed to take a multivitamin right now.

antibiotics will make the liver enzymes go up and so do sleeping pills and pain meds will to.

so maybe you're doc is hoping you can get through this without the extra pills? if you can, that would be the best for your health.

i tried to not take these extra pills but the sides just got to be too much. felt like i was going crazy from all the itching and the nausea was horrible.
