The medical community thinks it's about 12 hours just FYI. I think in most cases it's closer to that than 6 weeks though. Most of us don't have syringes of our blood hanging around the home. They worry much more about HBV than HCV. In dialysis for example, they dialyze you in an isolation room with HBV and don't wait HIV or HCV. HBV is much more virulent outside the body.

They really don't think it lives that long outside of the body. There are many dialysis patients with HCV though as that's a risk factor. They'd have to isolate them similarly if they looked at it the same and maybe they should. Most dialysis units aren't configured that way though and most could not handle the expenses needed to make that change. Interesting. They probably are just looking the other way but I think HCV is still transmitted from patient to patient via caregivers. Interesting. I think an easy cure for HCV could solve this problem though.

I always that i got it from a mosquito bite. Aedes albopictus (Stegomyia albopicta), It is known that Aedes albopictus can transmit pathogens and viruses, such as the Yellow fever virus, Dengue fever and Chikungunya fever, i know it must transit HepC too.

So, it's biologically unlikely for infected blood to be spread to another person.

There are also indications for transovarial and transstadial transmission of the yellow fever virus within A. aegypti, that is, the transmission from a female mosquito to her eggs and then larvae. This infection of vectors without a previous blood meal seems to play a role in single, sudden breakouts of the disease.

I have gotten rid of my Hep Ca, as well as my Hubs, but I havent gotten my sons tested yet. (I plan on doing so soon) Meanwhile, I get paranoid of our communal tooth-paste tube..but I dont think they bleed when they brush?
If Reminder doesn't know how he got Hep C,and didn't use a needle, or crazy anal sex...then ZI would guess the transmission route to be invasive dental work and contaminated equiptment. I just had alot of dental work done, (by a Dental Student) so I kinda feel like getting tested again one of these yrs...ahh

Well, well...in my heydays i loved the white powdery substance, and what i heard the straw was a great source....and yes could have been the sex?...Who knows. I did some crazy stuff, little bit of this, little bit of that, a variety alright no denial.. Slowing down this days though.No drugs for a long ass time, sex i could use no doubt.

But not me! No not one. They swarm me and even land on me. But they do not bite me.

My 13 year old son has been exposed to HCV (no Rna test yet) but the mosquitoes bite the crap out of him....very interesting. They some how know I am toxic. Viral load maybe, my cirrhosis maybe.
Or hopefully my son passed the virus some time ago.

Or maybe mosquitoes hate yellow colored sick people.

I think more than just proboscis are at play in keeping others safe from mosquitoes. I havent been bitten in years.
