Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

I just stumbled upon these yesterday. I want one, maybe two...hmmm...they are kind of pricey, so maybe just one.

Dream On....Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Way i would even mention it i ever had this disease unless i am very close to a person. Me to walk around in one of this shirts its like open up a can of worms. And people who still have it will not wear this for more than good reasons. The greatest example of it how not one signature drive ever made it over 5000 or so anything to do with HCV. And we got millions infected. Thanks for the new pills very soon this shirts will be only be seen is in the museums.

i agree. I am pro-education, BUT...not on my back (or chest).

and right, I wouldn't do it if i had diabetis, BUT...look at all the pink tee shirts and other clothing items to bring attention to breast cancer. and people DO wear breast cancer survivor gear....

The other thing I didn't get about these shirts was what "girls are tough" had to do with it. Anyone???

I agree about never wearing one, though I get the intention. Wasn't it someone from Jane's Addiction who got an HIV+ tattoo? Trying to reduce stigma by saying "I have this." Though I think it works better from a loved one. I've seen "I love someone with autism" bumper stickers. BUt I won't be the one to put myself out there like that. I was reading articles about Lou Reed's death and many have ignorant comments in response. One said, "As soon as I heard liver transplant, I though 'anohter dirty addict with Hep C". It could make a funny poem -- tshirst people would wear (cancer survivor, etc.) vs. ones they won't (Hep C, erectile dysfunction, hemmoroids).

I'd wear that, too! My favorite irony is all the glossy women's mags talking about breast cancer prevention -- even though it's been proven that the process they use to bleach the paper is a major cause of Breast cancer. (probably other cancers, too). And don't get me started on what my town just voted to do to the environment. 15,000 rubber tires for children to play in. Located on top of a hill that will drain off into the Hudson.
