Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I would ask the doctor.
Did you ever do a hep C screen, and when? How/when was your HCV+ status confirmed? That would've been the time to start treatment, if there was an appropriate treatment available for you.
If you have not had major health issues or interruptions to lifestyle, there may have been no big rush. HCV is slow moving but it does a lot of damage before you notice anything.
The body is an amazing machine & this havroni stuff is wonderful. Drop the HCV rock, and rock on!
