Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I just want to say to all my friends on DS who were on TX at the same time as me and are now 6 months clear 'Brilliant, Great' I am so glad for you all, i know i feel awkward as mine came back and most of you find it hard to talk to me (Please don't) I am going to wait for a drug not as bad as peg/int with less side effects.
I am not done with tx, only half way.
On my mind since I started is the possibility of having the dragon return.
I just read some where about how serious they are now about treating us. Also read where a huge amount of baby boomers have this virus and dono it. I forget the numbers but it is a huge amount and only 20 percent know they have the virus.
I think we have a good chance of winning and I'm sorry for those who dono they have it.
The new drugs sound very promising to me.
I wonder why HepC is not made more known to the public? I had no idea how serious it is until I learned I have it.

They give you all the information, like the dates of the trial, the locations, for who they are design, like slow responder, or non responder, ect....
