Me too. I had borderline glaucoma and now I can no longer drive at night.

I didn't take Harvoni, but took Sovaldi and Olysio back in the Spring. I've had eye problems ever since. Had to have lazer procedure to relieve the pressure and was told I have early glaucoma. I also have dry eye and still have a problem opening my eyes when I wake up. I know that all those things can have to do with aging, but it coincidentally all started the same week I started treatments.

I do have glaucoma - wide angle (not the scary kind, which is narrow angle). Wide angle is the kind that comes on gradually (and with - ugh - aging). I did Sovaldi/Olysio early last year - my opthalmologist said NO PROBLEM with those meds causing increased pressure. My pressures are checked every four months, and I use drops. My pressures stayed just fine throughout tx (and now). Most meds that indicate that increased eye pressure/glaucoma may be a side effect are referring to NARROW angle glaucoma (that info came straight from my opthalmologist - I just asked him recently because a med I am taking can "cause glaucoma"). Just be sure to have your pressures checked regularly if you are borderline, which you are probably doing anyway.

I was diagnosed with glaucoma a couple of years ago and was on drops. Then a little over a year ago, I had some problems that my opthamologist diagnosed. I have wide angle and narrow angle glaucoma. He did an iridecctomy (sp.) which is a laser to make two holes in my irises for drainage. It took a while to get the correct drops. The last two times I was checked, the pressure was great. The last was in July.

I went yesterday for a pressue check and other tests that are done yearly. My pressure was very high. My doctor is going to check on the Harvoni to see if that is a side effect. Nothing that I read indicated that it was. He started me on an additional drop and I am going back tomorrow.

If this does not help, he is sending me to a glaucoma specialist.

I am halfway through my twelve week treatment. It will end in early March.

Other tests that were done yesterday were to check for loss of vision. Thank goodness, they were fine.

I am a 67 year old female. I think I have had hepatitis C for forty years. I was diagnosed in 1992. I did treatment in 2008 and was a non responder.

Wishing you the best. I too am 67 and had the virus for about 40 years, best I can figure. Dx'ed with HCV in 2002; SVR24 in November 2014 (on S&O as I wrote earlier). Dx'ed with wide angle glaucoma in 2010. I really don't think glaucoma is a side effect of Harvoni, but only the specialists would know. Lumigan is working best for me after trying a couple other drops. Wishing you the best. Our eyesight is beyond precious, as you well know!

I went to the ophthalmologist today for another pressure check after adding a third drop. Everything was good. Yeah! Part of the problem with the narrow angle glaucoma is a fluctuation in the eye pressure. My doctor is going to check my pressure every three to four weeks for a while.

I spoke with a nurse and she said that they don't know about Harvoni increasing the pressure but that the previous meds did have that as a side effect. I don't think it causes glaucoma, but it might cause eye pressure to increase.

havehope, I agree with you that the medication is very strong. I am hopeful that other affected areas will improve over time as the virus and the medication are eliminated from the body. I wonder what the Hep C virus has done to other parts of my body for the past forty years!

I don't remember feeling any differently. I am excited about what lies ahead. I really do feel better.
