Interesting article. But i am not sure what kind of patent infringement Merck's talking about as the new pill is not polymeric based inhibitor, and if i am correct it is one a pill per day. People who failed the existing drugs Boceprevir or Telepravir can take Sofosbuvir. It is mind blowing what a nerve they got even to try to demand money baseless. But the bottom line is both existing drug will worth nothing in monetary value as soon as Gilead new drug gets approved.

That will be the end of life for both of them , as no doctor will prescribe them any longer.The stock value will go to nothing, at least for Merck...as Vertex desperately trying to float above the water, and stay relevant in the battle of the giants. Personally i think Vertex is toast as their new drug is already having some issues. They can not pull off the same story of the little or no side effects for their patients. The Black Box warning is a black aye for them already.
