heard on radio yesterday that most all countries are low in costs of meds due to the fact that they are feeding off USA dollar price...probably didn't say that right but you got the idea I think

Actually I think that would work the opposite.SAy the CDN dollar is only worth .90 cents then $84,000. US would cost $92,000. CDN.
I think they are just milking the insurance companies while they can. New drugs next year, watch the prices come down with competition.

I didn't understand that. I'd assume when drugs prices are quoted in dollars for different parts of the world they are referring to U.S. dollars and NOT Canadian or Jamaican dollars.

Based on everything I've read - which was extensive - my understanding is that this tx is most expensive in the U.S.S (as are most drugs). All other countries negotiate drugs prices with pharma EXCEPT the U.S. There's a reason so many Americans but their drugs from Canada and it's certainly NOT because drugs are more expensive there. I'd suggest you post a link to to the contrary if you have one but I don't suppose you do.

My insurance drug benefits plan covers 70%. It paid out $116,000.00. for 12 weeks of S&O . Ballpark math pegs that at around $160/170,000.00 in Canada. Sorry I can't comment on how things are in Jamaica. :)

My insurance plan paid 100%. The cost of 4 months of Sovaldi/Riba/Inteferon was $106,100 Canadian

I cant afford the drugs, my insurance will not pay until i get sick enough to qualify via their criteria, I operate daily life with fatigue and a host of other issues i am pretty sure are hepc related, lucky come up with the money to keep making payments to insurance which now is more expensive than ever with high co pays and huge deductibles since the affordable health care act. i think things will be better if i am treated now for me and the insurance company and all others involved, also think that holds true for others infected with the hepc virus

hepcme I hope the prices come down (and they will) before you have to become sick enough. I have a feeling 2015 will start to see more affordable prices starting.

many thanks ImKramer, talking to my doctor his theory was the trend may be more of the same as now, better medicine will be more expensive, his opinion of course which should be questioned as all in this arena but the 1a patient i think may have an uphill battle
