Fibrosis Science
Our drug candidates provide a promising and exciting new approach for the therapy of fibrotic diseases, and liver fibrosis in particular. Fibrosis is the formation of excess connective tissue (collagen and other proteins plus cellular elements such as myofibroblasts) in response to damage, inflammation or repair. When the fibrotic tissue becomes confluent, it obliterates the cellular architecture, leading to scarring and dysfunction of the underlying organ.

Reminder: This company isn't developing a treatment for HCV!
Instead, with the technology explained in one of the links previously listed in this post, they are developing a treatment for reversing Fibrosis, NASH and possibly even Cirrhosis of the liver as well as treatments for other conditions found with other organs of the human body... They're also developing cancer drug treatments as well and all based on Galectin science.
Respectfully,
HANK (for the most part! ;>) )
