Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I almost hate to post anything on this topic, because it's dominating the board, but for any of us getting shots for anything (I'm still trying to talk myself into the Hep A vaccine), here's a way to lessen the negative effects (this is from my homeopathic MD). Buy a tube of Ledum 30 (available at most health food stores.) Take one dose right after, another one 2 hours later, and one more two hours after that. It's energy medicine, so there are no ill effects. It works on bee stings, too, or any other type of venom.
It's pills under the t ongue, and it's not for the pain of the shot, it's to mitigate the damage from having potentially hazardous substances injected directly into your body (that's why it says for "venom" -- I learned at the Zoomobile that venom is put directly into the body whereas poison can be ingested).
