Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I battle the anxiety by keeping physically active as much as possible.
Now that it is FINALLY sinking in that I am "cured" or SVR, first you don't believe it, (I have had this for over 25 years), but it starts to sink in.
I did then go through a stage of depression as my whole past life was all about "getting rid or dealing with the Hep C problems" - also fears of the awful death, etc.
Now since that is in the past - I do focus that my liver will heal itself slowly and I have signs already of that just by the type of bowel movements and the urine color....
I don't have tons of energy that others describe, but my anxiety is finally leaving me.....I am believing the lab reports and my doctor that this is really gone.......
I don't lay awake at night or think all day about this awful disease.
We have all been truly blessed and now I pray for the ones still trying to get these fantastic meds!!
You will feel different - first total elation and happiness - then for me it took a while to get it out of my head, but it is gone along with the anxiety!!
God bless and good luck...
Self conscious about what I do to my body such as meds and what I eat. While I am not anal about my diet I am eating healthier than I ever have in my life. So in a nutshell, I'm moving forward one day at a time. N
Bless you
Bill
The pain and such will not just dissappear overnight. I've gradually got to feeling better and better....you should too as your liver begins the healing process
Hope you are soon free from the C.
