Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

I cannot believe they found some therapy without the interferon, this is big, I couldn't wait, and never thought it would come in in my lifetime.
This is one big breakthrough.
Another one is they will be able to determine right from before the patient is actually on the meds, if he or she will be a responder or not, now that's a biggy in itself too.
Great, great news in the hepatitis world.
