Heard this was going to happen & glad that it is. Don't know how significant it will be when Solvadi/Ledispavir is approved in Oct. since that combo is supposed to be even better without regard to Q80k or subtypes. If there is such a thing as better than S&O bring it on. Options are always a good thing & let's hope the price comes down as well..

WG both drugs have been approved for a while but not together. That's where the "off label" has come in. It won't be "off label" anymore.
Lots of folks who needed to treat could not get access because their Dr.s weren't comfortable "off label".
AAL good point and I don't know the answer except competition may now drive prices down :)
RE the Q80, at my health facility it's now longer considered a factor for S&) and 1a.
RE S&L being better? That will be seen with it's real world performance outside of trials. S&O was out of that gate six months ago and real world results are starting to come in now! S&L yet to start.

I saw this all happen in 1993 with the release of the first AIDS cocktail drugs. Super expensive but as more came to market the price dropped and people stopped dying.

It is certainly deja vu all over again Kramer. Love that this is the revolutionary year of HCV tx & cure. Promise fulfilled as I see it & I've been waiting for what seems like forever. I'm all in on S&L so I'll be one of the first to do that combo in the real world. I know it remains to be seen but trial results were even better than S&O. But, S&O was only tested in small clinical trials like Cosmos before it was approved. You guys who were lucky enough to get it in the real world are the reason it is now moving forward as an approved FDA combo. Like I said, options are a good thing. I have renewed hope that my tough little dragon is going down in a few months. So thankful for you S&O pioneers.

I tried to get my Dr to OK treatment on S&0 in May when I saw the NP but she said also that the Olysio was a small trial (100"s ?)and the Dr would not prescribe it with S cause it wasn't FDA approved as a combo unless it was really serious...so I wait ...like forever it seems but abstiinence makes the day seem fonder.... gotta laugh...beats self pity...I can do that ...ya'll have to come to my pity parties some time...

Tomorrow, we can all be treatment buddies in the fall or winter. Hopefully side effects will be easy. But I do miss the Incivek butt itch posts that we had a few years ago.

Yay! I am happy excited that new & better treatments for all geno types will soon be available. No one will be left behind.

I was thinking maybe i will pass on TX , just got a insurance policy that will pay for my mortgage if I am disabled....dah, can't remember where my shoes , keys, list, coupons or where I parked my car....does that qualify...and my old Dr gave me until 2015 to live......maybe I will keep my brain fog for a free ride on the Reading... whatch think ?
