only been on the Sovaldi and Riba for 2 weeks and the rims of my eye lids started itching after first week and I'm now extremely photo sensitive.

Adik- are you on treatment? What treatment?

I have not heard of those side effects on Sovaldi & olysio, just headaches. Could be allergies - it is allergy season and a bad one. Or, you could have dry eye alone or as part of Sjogren's Syndrome.

This is my 9th week of Sovaldi and Olysio, and I have had burning, and sometimes blurry eyes for several weeks. Sometimes when I wake up, I can't open my left eye for 5 minutes or so. There is nothing draining from my eyes, and they don't seem to be dry either. That has been my only symptom. No headaches.

Thanks for your comments. Actually I am not on any treatment at all. At least not yet. My GI dr. is currently working on it tho. I am in the process of having to get a letter from my other dr. stating that due to my depression I am not a candidate for Interferon treatment and hope Cigna will approve me for the Solvaldi which is what the GI dr. wants me on. I have been getting treatment for major depression since 1998 and on antidepressants since then plus see a therapist and been hospitilized more than a few times so it shouldn't be a problem. Back to my eye issue-I saw the eye dr. yesterday and all it is dry eye syndrome from my everyday constant use of over the counter eye drops. I have dry spots on my eyes. Now I am using preservative free drops which are pretty expensive. He said this should clear my eyes up. I guess I am a little paranoid ever since my GI dr. suggested I be treated for the Hep C. Every little thing that goes wrong I think it's from that-lol. My main complaint is this ongoing nausea and loss of appetite. I do have gastroparesis which also causes this. The dr. said it could be either one or both causing this.

I have dry eye from Sjogren's Syndrome. I use drops during the day and dry eye OINTMENT at night.

and... your depression wil also make you a non-candidate for Ribavirin. Do you know what genotype you are as that will determine your treatment.

riba is a bitch . newdoc told me there are no phsyc symptoms on these oral meds . its not true . riba wires me like a japanese radio .. id be strangling people if not for the fact that this is my 4th tx attempt and ive learned from my past mistakes .
im pushing stressors away from myself . the most recent is google search engine . every few minutes theres a new animated google " doodle " sproinging and bouncing and flashing and such . na , fuck you google , dont toy with me . ive replaced them with duckduckgo search engine . its a startup of only 20 employees out east who specialize in letting you brouse without being tracked by commerce .
ive 10 days of tx left and nothing is going to screw me up ..

I got dry eye syndrome when I was NOT on tx....

It's real bad.....Used GenTeal Eye Gel as it turns into liquid when you put it on eye, but very good on moisturizing. Use this at night and sometimes in day.

Also buy the GenTeal Moderate/Severe Dry Eye Drops (careful there are many types) that I use daily as eye drops.

Helps a great deal - I can NO longer wear Mascara (any kind) and this drives me crazy due to my being too vain as I have blonde eyelashes and it looks terrible. Oh well...I am getting
used to my new look.

Like the eye dr. told me you have to be very using any eye gtts. They have to be preservative free (if you need to use them several times a day-like me). Otherwise, you must ONLY use them as directed which I believe is only 4 times a day for most brands. Also, my GI dr. just wrote Solvadi for the type of tx. she was going to recommend for me so I guess she wasn't referring to the S & O kind
