As many of you know I have had a problem with a dr at my practice for some time now. I have given them numerous chances and yet they still seem to suck. Yes, I said it. Suck. lol Anyway, they transfered me to an np and finally the ball was rolling. I've been waiting on approval from insurance. Im trying to make a long story short here, so bare with me. It's been taking longer than usual for this approval, so I have been following up on a regular basis. My dr office keep dropping the ball. They never send a request for a pre approval from insurance. It wasnt until I made numerous phone calls and followed up that they did that. Then, the insurance made two inquiries on what was needed. Again, I called insurance and they said they never received what they asked for. I have one shot left the nurse said. So that's two denials because of their incompetency. I was so furious. Also, insurance wants liver biopsy and a fibroscan. There are no fibroscan machines in the area the dr said. Also, they want me to be stage 3 or 4 to be approved. What the hell!!!!!???? Seriously, I get that this is an expensive treatment and they don't want to pay, but in the long run it's best for them to pay now than to wait and risk more tests, complications, infections, fees. I just cant believe the hoops I have to jump through. On a positive note, I have maintained a calm attitude when dealing with all staff. I explained how upset I have been along the way and that I am tired of having to hold their hand through this process. However, I did in in a respectable manner. So, Ill give it a couple of days and call the dr again. They have one shot left to get this approved. I pray they get it right!
