Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
After 3 disappointing trips to the dr I finally saw the np today. Finally, someone who had a clue! I'm not sure if you all remember but I left the past three appts in tears. Anyway, today was great!!! I had low expectations. She seemed really on the ball. My meds are just waiting to be approved by insurance. They drew blood. She wanted to test and make sure I'm not starting out on RIBA with anemia or thyroid issues. Etc. I was also counseled on what to expect( which you all have been awesome about). So, as soon as I'm approved I can start! I'm really excited. I think I'm a little more scared then excited so I need to work on that. I am really hoping for as little side effects as possible. Fingers crossed!!!
I just look at it this way - I do not have to stay on any treatment that doesn't agree with me. I don't want to feel like I did before!
They can adjust doses or I can stop when I choose so I'm just going forth telling myself "4 weeks then see..'
Got started on meds for hypothyroidism.....Hep Doc never said anything about it.
Not sure if previous tx's had destroyed thyroid, or just my age?
I have anxiety some days more than others - I can feel my back all tight and tense......
So hard as I have 18 weeks to go.....geno 3a
